Angry Republican/Loving American

 Help, My Wife Hates Politics

My wife actually hates politics. (Although a few of you here have got her to talk politics, she has talked more politics on here since she signed up then she talks with me.) I have tried to talk sence into her, but she will not listlen.

She is a registered Democrat. You think I would have steared clear of her kind considering I was raised by them. I guess opposites do attract. She really is a wonderful wife and mother, so I can't complain to much. We don't have much in common, though. She is into music and crafts. I'm into politics and sports. She hates both. Not much to talk about. Not only am I not into crafts, I have no artistic bone in my body. She was in the band in school. I listlened to the band while they played at halftime. We are complete opposites.

I havbe worked on her for years trying to change her views. She is finnaly coming around. 911 did it. While watching the coverage, she noticed how the media were slanting the coverage. She did not like that. She still don't like talking politics, but she is getting where she is beginning to agree with me on things. ( When she will discuss them.)

Try talking sports with her.

All in all, she is a very Godly person. I love her with all my heart and all my soul, and I'm glad you married me.

thankyou.

What it is like being me part 4

We should destroy big buisness. Make them pay their "FAIR SHAIR" in taxes. So they pay 35 to 45 percent, and that is not enough. That is not their fair share. Why? Because they are rich? They can afford it? I know, let's raise their tax percentage so they can pay their "fair shair."

I may have been in grade school when Reagan came out with the trickle down theory, but studying it since high school has made sence. The trickle down theory is right, but let me throw in my own theory. As long as I have worked, untill now, (unless you want to count all the taxes they are paying,) the rich are the ones that have always paid me my paycheck. It was not the bum down the road. The so called rich are the ones that are owning the buisnesses and they are the ones that are running them. It is their money that they are paying me, not the government's.

I kinda see it this way. I know you have heard this before, but here goes. If I get a tax cut, I might get a new t.v. or couch, maybe a downpayment on a new car. If they get one, they are greedy. Which means that most of them will put the money back in the buisness to make more. Either in new ways to make the product or the way they sell them. Or maybe they will give their workers incentives to work harder so they will produce more. Either way, more money in their pocket by spending more.

Raise their taxes, their not going to do that. I kinda think of it like this. It will actually hurt the poor laborer than it will hurt the rich man. He is greedy remember. He is not going to lower his life style. And why should he. It is his money. He earned it.

Take Bill Gates. While I can't really stand that man, look what he has done. He came from no where, with very little money, and is one of the riches men in the World. The government tried taking his company and splitting it 3 ways, because it "wasn't fair he had a monoply." Instead of the government coming up with ways to get the competition to compete and come up with something to compete, they decided to make it fair by bring him down.

That is stupid politics. All that does is make other briliant minds out there not want to do anything. Why would they want to. The government is just going to take it away.

The trickle down theory works, the problem is that it takes time to see the results. And that is how the Dems confuse people. We live in a now generation. You want dinner, stick a T.V. dinner in the microwave and voila, dinner. You go to fast food restraunts, and if it takes you longer than 2 or 3 min. to get your meal, you want the cooks head. We live in the now. So the Dems. Jump within days of tax cuts and other things the the republicans do and say, see it doesn't work. They refuse to give it time. they know it will work, but if they can slander it long enough, if after the true results come in, nobody is listlening. They have done their jobs.

So that is what it is like being me.

The U.S. military. The men in uniforms. I love them and respect them. I have a Great Grandfather that just turned 91. He joined in peace time while they were gearing up for wwii. He joined as a private, retired as Lt. Colonel. I have had stepparents and parents in the armed forces. The military deserve our utmost respect.
